Retention & deletion

Trace content and metadata share the workspace's existing metadata-retention period. Free workspaces receive 90 days of queryable traces, including captured request and response content. “All retained” trace counts can decline as old traces expire. Managed retention is controlled by the customer agreement.

A bounded, idempotent cleanup removes expired call rows and then removes unreferenced processed-ingest ledgers. Raw trace objects exist only until the worker commits normalized trace data unless a workspace has a different contracted retention policy. Per-tenant zero-retention permanently removes all S3 versions and delete markers after processing. Database backups age deleted records out within the production 14-day backup window.

An application-level content opt-out prevents request and response content from being retained for that operation while preserving cost, tokens, latency, model, status, and trace structure. Content omitted by an older or opted-out SDK cannot be reconstructed later.

Workspace deletion revokes authentication, removes versioned trace objects and tenant AI resources, and purges tenant relational data. Contact privacy@metergraph.dev to request deletion.
